sangha

Hello fellow travelers along the path of waking up through our parenting,

This is a crazy week here in our household, with my husband working many late nights and I am feeling rather tired and overwhelmed. I have a couple of topics I have been contemplating and that will be sharing with you all soon, but in the meantime, if you are in the mood, it would be so lovely to hear from you in my comments section. The importance of sangha, or community, on the path is crucial. To know that there are other people stumbling along besides us, sharing in the same challenges and the same victories - it is just such a precious thing, and so heartening. If you are feeling a bit brave, or maybe a bit shy, (but ready to be brave), then please share in this space a bit about yourself and your path of parenting. It would mean so much to me. I am sure it will help give me some of the energy I need to sit back down at the keyboard and share with you all!

  1. It is nice to know someone else is stumbling along, too. Thank you for the blog.

  2. Not feeling especially brave, but I think you know and your other readers should too, how much me, my 10-week old (!!) daughter, and your prickly brother appreciate your voice here as we too stumble.

  3. I love reading your posts! Hang in there. We are mostly dealing with sleep issues here, sleep has gone out the window since Orion turned a year old and we are all very very tired. Hang in there!

  5. Rebecca, I have been coming toward meditation and mindfulness in a long and circuitous route...I am doing a lot of reading right now and your blog is such a welcome, welcome voice. I would love to hear more, any time...do you have any specific books you recommend?

  6. Hi Angie! So good to have you here. Some really great books for meditation practice: Turning the Mind into an Ally by Sakyong Mipham, The Wisdom of No Escape by Pema Chodron, Shambhala:Sacred Path of the Warrior by Chogyam Trungpa. Everyday Blessings by Kabat-Zinn is a mainstay for our family life, as is the Parent's Tao - both are linked under "Resources" on the blog. Let me know if you have other questions and good luck!
